A grounded, collaborative approach

Dr. Sarah Galloway is a warm, steady, and collaborative psychologist who brings both deep clinical knowledge and real-world humanity to her work. Outside the office, she spends time with family and her puppy, often outdoors hiking, kayaking, running, skiing, or traveling. That grounded, movement-forward way of living mirrors her therapeutic style: present, active, and centered on helping people build a life that feels meaningful and aligned.

Clinical training and medical expertise

With a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia and Post-doctoral fellowship from the Medical University of South Carolina in health psychology, Dr. Galloway integrates evidence-based treatments to help clients understand what’s keeping them stuck and create practical, sustainable change. Her background spans academic medical institutions and community-based hospital systems (including the Medical University of South Carolina and the Levine Cancer Institute at Atrium Health) where she treated patients with cancer, chronic illness, pain, and major life stressors. She considers biological, psychological, and social factors in developing a full understanding of the patient and treatment planning.

This foundation shaped her ability to work effectively with complexity — whether that complexity relates to health conditions, professional demands, identity shifts, or significant life stress. She brings a structured yet flexible approach to therapy, tailoring care to the layered realities of each person’s life.
